Will expand ‘till success is assured.Take in this family that’s dancing and praising
The rainbow of cups from Above:A sign sent from Source that the Flood’s not replaying,
As sacred and as blissful as Love.
If you’re not familiar, the origin story of the rainbow in the Bible is that God sent down the first one after the flood waters receded for Noah. It was a sort of promise that there wouldn’t be another cataclysm like that.
Sorry to throw some Christian imagery at you; I know not everyone vibes with that.
Still, it’s a fairly safe bet Pamela Coleman Smith had that in mind when she drew the card, mired as she was in the esoteric Christianity of The Golden Dawn—the fraternal magickal organization that to which she and Arthur Waite belonged.
So there’s that bit of context for you. I also wanted to highlight that there’s a potential tension between these two cards that I picked up on, but that didn’t quite feel right to codify in WiggleStick poetry:
It’s possible there’s a workaholic tendencies obstructing the blissful, harmonious family life. Perhaps that’s something to keep an eye out for?
I’m getting the sense that the cards work together though, not in opposition to one another. That the hard work is what unlocks the divine love.
But who knows? I’m just a dude practicing honoring his intuition by writing a poetry blog with a ridiculous name.
