Night and Day
A weather report indicating hypomania in the form of a poem inspired by a Tarot draw.

I’d love to gift you a reading! if you’d like a bespoke poem of your own…
What do I need to know about today?
The Sun
Positivity, fun, warmth, success, vitality
The Moon
Illusion, fear, anxiety, subconscious, intuition
The warmth I’m craving might be mine?
To frolic gayly’s sounding fine.
To bask—successful, vital, kind? The sun can calmly watch me.
Confusion swims below the line.
A sense of fear; so sharp, sublime.
I wonder how might I be blind. The moon is weeping hotly.
Given the question was about “what I need to know about today”—and given that I’m diagnosed bipolar—this duality is somewhat concerning.
It would appear this Monday is primed to see me on the manic half of the cycle. That high energy, heightened awareness place where both anxiety and creativity live.
Hypomanic energy can be nourishing. Seductively enjoyable even.
For me, it really only becomes a problem for which I’m grateful to be medicated when it starts to sour. When it’s left out of the fridge too long, that sense of “belonging in the world” that my juicy bouts of ecstasy inspire sours into anxiety.
The same creativity that can make for a pretty fun WiggleStick poem, in the more painful, challenging, negative context of anxiety, can weave huskily beckoning narratives of paranoia.
It’s night and day (appropriate to the cards). A real pain.
We’ll see if I can embrace the darkness and not get wrecked by it.
If you liked this, you can always buy a cup of coffee as a form of Dāna.
The WiggleStick has spoken.
(Dramatic!)
Once again, I would love to send you a poem! Don’t feel guilty about asking twice. Even if you ask every single day, I’d personally judge the energy exchange fair.
And why not sign up for a cute lil poem a day?
Huge thanks to
