Lonely Abundance
A Tarot poem in response to inspiration to look inward to answer, "What's going on??"
Welcome back to WiggleStick: a playful synonym for “divining rod” that, today, hopefully guides
toward an answer to their (probably rhetorical) questions, posed in the Substack Note below. This was a super fun reading and I’m grateful to have gotten consent to perform it, but I think I still prefer people inviting this energy in directly and purposefully. So, if you’d like a reading of your own…

Ace of Pentacles
A new financial or career opportunity, manifestation, abundance
The Hermit
Soul-searching, introspection, being alone, inner guidance
I asked on behalf of the Substack community,
Yet I’m left wondering, whether it’s zoomed to me.All of us searching inside, slightly lonely,
High on the mountaintop inner-light glowing?Picking our paths with a pentacle cradled,
Cherishing chances—though they’re unstable—To bring in abundance, to write our own script,
To manifest friends while absorbed in our trip.
More and more, I’m seeing some element of the visual aspect of one card playing into the other. In this case, I think that the blue peaks visible through the archway at the bottom of the Ace of Pentacles might be where our Hermit finds themself.
If this is a reading for the whole Substack community, I’m wondering how common the experience is of being excited and inspired by a new project and (potentially) a new source of income (the Ace), getting drawn into the project of building the thing, and then finding out once you get there that a lot of introspection and strange loneliness (Hermit) is a huge part of being a Creator.
I wrote about this recently on my main blog in an essay titled I’m a Creep.
Does this resonate with y’all? Did I accidentally read for only myself?
The WiggleStick has spoken.
(Dramatic!)
