Welcome back to WiggleStick: a playful synonym for “divining rod” that, today, helps
with the question they volunteered on a previous WiggleStick poem!Huge thanks to
for translating these poems into something wonderful and weird and totally TikTok worthy!I need more questions! if you’d like a bespoke poem and reading of your own…
The Emperor
Authority, establishment, structure, a father figure
Ace Of Swords
Breakthroughs, new ideas, mental clarity, success
A workplace, an empire… there really a difference?
A boss is a boss, that’s no matter the business.
Enter establishment, fit in to structure;
Find the right way to belong to seek succor. It seems you’ll succeed if you cultivate clarity.
Guessing your breakthrough is brand new prosperity.
Ace: a beginning. The Sword: your discernment.
Use that big brain and your certain to earn it.
There’s something very similar about the Ankh scepter in the Emperor’s hand and the Crowned Sword jutting out of the clouds, isn’t there?
Traditionally the scepter represents the Emperor’s divine right to rule. It’s a symbol of power and immortality. And obviously the crown in the Ace has a similar function: you have authority.
Are you getting a job where you’ll be in charge of stuff or what?
Or maybe you’re just going to be in charge of yourself?
(Hm. I got a little ping when I wrote that.)
I’m thinking that the cards are calling your attention to the reality that regardless of what job you get, you’re ultimately in charge of your own time. Even when I was delivering pizza, I found ways to incorporate self-development by binging audiobooks through my car stereo. I’ve done the same while mindlessly filing. Or doing data entry.
And then there’s jobs where the labor is more mental and/or emotional, in which case it pays even more to bring your full self, your full authority, to your role.
No matter what job you find yourself in, it can help to remember that regardless of what the boss says, you don’t actually belong to your employer. You might literally be trading hours of your life for currency, but you always have the right to rule your own self.
Best of luck!
