I hope the little jokes about “fondling wands” and “doms” don’t offend. It just sort of bubbled up. Maybe I’m in a weird mood.
Perhaps you already know this, but the suit of wands represents the element of Fire, which is tied to the energy of willpower and the primal oomf to make your desires manifest. So it really is interesting the way these characters are facing each other. Almost as if it’s your will to take a look at yourself in the mirror and figure out what to do with your limitless potential…
After all, another thing to keep in mind about these two cards is that they’re both very near the beginning of journeys, with the Page traditionally representing the part where you begin again after a setback and the Two representing the planning phase that follows an initial conception of an idea.
A last similarity I’ll point out is that the Page roughly faces the Pyramids of Giza and the character in the Two holds a globe in his hand. These are some powerful symbols of immortality and mastery.
