Abundance, luxury, self-sufficiency, financial independence.
The High Priestess
Intuition, sacred knowledge, divine feminine, the subconscious mind
A theme of “abundance?” Well, what could be better?
Mountains of molten gold leak from your pores.
A princess—so Disney—where birds choose to settle;
Be your own boss and reward yourself more.How do you get there? Invoke the divine—
You’ll focus next year on the call from within—
The Feminine flavor of subconscious mind,
Receptively drink of the sacred to win!
I’d be remiss not to point out the shared background element of both cards: the fruits, pomegranates and grapes.
In the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot, the pomegranate iconography is commonly thought to represent the Greek goddess of Spring, Persephone. You may know her as the godess who was abducted by Hades, then married him, then became Queen of the Underworld.
Sounds pretty metal.
Anyway, Persephone’s myth has the etiological purpose of explaining the changing of the seasons. She’s allowed to come back above ground every Spring and eventually returns in Autumn, which makes her mother, Demeter, so upset that plants wither and die. As such, Persephone represents the abundance of Spring, in particular crops like grapes that disappear during winter, grow throughout Spring and Summer, and are harvested in the Fall.
Alright enough history lesson.
The point is, there will be some cyclical gain and loss—there always is—but, at least according to the intuition of the WiggleStick, your main focus in 2024 will be on abundance.
